AromaTheraClay Pottery Candle Workshop (5/17/2025)

Saturday, May 17th - 10 AM to 2 PM

Join us for a hands-on creative experience where scent meets ceramics! In this immersive workshop, you’ll handcraft your own custom candle and build a unique pottery vessel, inspired by the fragrance you choose.

What to Expect:

• Candle Making with Kimberly Michele of Sincerely Candle Co. (1.5 hours): Learn about & select from 3 aromatherapy candle oils, add colorant if you choose, then craft your own candle using a mold.

• Break (30 minutes): Relax, refresh, and get ready for the next phase.

• Hand-Building & Decorating with NCPC Ed Mgr Cat Viera Akerman (2 hours): Shape, design, and decorate your own ceramic vessel, creating a one-of-a-kind piece to hold your candle. Let your chosen scent inspire your design!

• The workshop fee is $45 per person and spaces are limited.

• Open to Ages 14+ only

*The finished project will have to cure and be picked up later. Candles will be wrapped for freshness once they are cured. Your clay will be prepared and at the perfect stage for molding before class. Once completed, your pottery vessel will be bisque fired, glazed, and glaze fired, ensuring it's fully finished and functional. Please allow up to 3 weeks for wares to be ready for pickup at the NC Pottery Center. Participants will be notified by phone.
