I am compelled by the sensation of seeing things fresh. As if waking, for the first time. The flora & fauna surrounding my studio continues to surprise me. My desire is to create something that might also bring its observer to a place of discovery.
I make functional and decorative stoneware. I draw inspiration from nature, particularly trees and birds. I love to wood-fire for the effects of natural wood ash and flashing, using a wide variety of clay and local materials.
At Michael Kenney Pottery, I produce functional/decorative porcelain and stoneware. Work is wheel-thrown or hand-built and high-fired in oxidation and sometimes salt/soda. Visit my website, or view my work at Kress Emporium in downtown Asheville.
Founded in 1977. Westmoore Pottery makes traditional earthenware and stoneware, some plain and some decorated, with a concentration on styles of pottery that were made or used in North Carolina prior to 1840.
Marsha has been a self-employed potter for over thirty-five years, concentrating on utilitarian pieces for everyday use. She works extensively with colored slips and various resist techniques, as well as carving and texturing the clay.
We are all affected by the global health crisis in one way or another.
Because of this our gallery is closed to the public for now.

My name is Mark Ewing and I am a potter in the Catawba valley tradition. I was trained by 3rd generation C.V. potter. I do traditional local forms using alkaline and slip glazes. I wood and electric fire.
We produce handmade functional and decorative stoneware. All our pottery is lead-free,conventional oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. We use our hands, clay, and artistry to create a piece of pottery worthy to use and display in your home.
Since 1984 Maggie and Freeman Jones have been producing a functional and decorative line of stoneware pottery. Since the turn of the new century, they have been producing one of a kind, decorative ceramics still based on function.
