Functional Pottery. Sculptural forms.

I have been a pottery for 45 years and create several lines of functional pottery plus ceramic sculpture. The "Blue Mum" line of functional pottery is wheel thrown stoneware featuring cream and blue glazes and flowing floral motifs. The other line is wheel thrown and handbuilt porcelain that is carved, stamped, and textured and is glazed is green glazes. My sculpture has been a journey starting with research about the prehistoric goddess figure in all cultures. My interpretation of the goddess form eventually led to expressing my views on a variety of social and political issues. Currently, I still explore the human body but without the historical reference. I am also interested in the bottle form in a variety of ways: southwest inspired, simple with bright colors and subtle matte pastel colors.
