2016 Renovations!

2016 renvoations via cannon foundationWhat’s happening? Renovations!

Our much-needed brick walkway leading from the back of the main center down to the education building has been completed except for a bit of back-filling and mulching. It looks great, but more importantly, visitors, particularly those with mobility issues, will benefit from being able to get down to the education building more easily. All of the bricks for the walkway project have been donated by Taylor Clay Products of Salisbury, NC.

“Bird blocks” have been installed along the upper-level windows to keep those persistent starlings from taking up residence again.

Re-staining of the entire exterior of the center’s main building is currently under way. The center will look brand spanking new once the painting is done! Our thanks to Cabot and the Asheboro Paint Center for their donation and discounting of some Indian Corn and Cordovan Brown stain. You can see the difference as they paint… It is SIMPLY AMAZING what a new coat of stain can do!

Renovations to a portion of our parking lot are pending and will be implemented over the spring and summer. Stay tuned.

Our thanksĀ to Frank Harmon for his architectural and landscaping input and plans.

Funding for these renovation projects is via grant funding from the Cannon Foundation.
